Donkey trail (Dos Burros) is probably the most iconic MTB trail of Sintra. You start from the highest and most exposed point in the west part of the mountain Sanctuary of Peninha. Mostly in this place, local clouds are being born. Then they travel along the north side of the hill keeping vegetation lush and maintaining dirt properties to "hero dirt" level. Start point itself has incredible 360 panoramic views to Cascais, Lisbon, Arrabida mountains, the westernmost point of Europe Cabo de Roca, surfers paradise Ericeira town and if the day is ultimately clear you can see the Berlengas Islands next to Peniche! such a view and the incredible start of the trail that goes all the way to the rugged Atlantic coast.
